We are inspired by nature and committed to preserving her beauty. The woods we hand select are processed in a way that uncovers their natural elegance. RECOVERED
+
We take great care to recover fallen and hurricane-tumbled trees without damaging their surrounding ecosystems. This process can take years from start to finish. Ours is a difficult but highly rewarding job that allows us to rescue what would otherwise have been wasted, and to reduce carbon emissions in the process.
RECLAIMED
+
There's a certain beauty that only time can create. Our reclamation process allows us to harness the wood’s authentic character in the creation of our designs.
REFORESTED
+
We are involved with sustainably managed forests throughout Mexico, this ensures that small land owners have an incentive in preserving and maintaining forests. We also have plantations that provide a wood source that actively contributes to the reduction of carbon in our atmosphere.

THE MARA COLLECTION
The Mara collection celebrates the natural beauty of Guanacaste trees, showcasing their distinctive grain and organic shapes in a way that allows the wood to take center stage. Our skilled ebanistas expertly wrap large oyster cuts around the sides, transforming each piece into a canvas that highlights the tree’s rich textures and unique characteristics. We are proud to expand this signature collection with a new Coffee Table, carrying forward Mara’s artistry and distinctive charm.

OUR MILL:
Our woods are processed individually in a way that maximizes their value and uncovers their natural beauty.

From a single tree, we may allocate sections for sculptures, slabs, veneers, or boards.
Some of our woods are over 100” wide, prohibitively dense, or laced with metal and concrete waste. These challenges often necessitate hardware that is not commercially available.
We have, therefore, developed custom techniques and tools that allow us to mill even the most difficult logs.
OUR KILN:
Once milled, the woods arrive at our kilns, which are monitored both locally and remotely from Italy to ensure optimum drying.

This part of the process takes about one week for veneers, and almost three months for 2” to 3” slabs.
Every gust of wind, every fire, and every storm creates tensions in a tree’s trunk. If not removed at this stage, they can cause the wood to crack and split over time. While we sometimes purposefully create cracks, we want each piece to leave our kilns completely stable.
Depending on the wood’s species, shape, and size, it can take as little as one year to as much as several decades for a log at our mill to reach our factory floor. Many pieces must wait years for the right project to come along. From there, each piece is entrusted to the skilled hands of our master craftsmen.
"Our work aims to honor the life of a tree and its worthy journey through earth, turning it into an expressive work. "
